This is because a huge gold deposit was discovered in north-eastern China. A few months earlier, another 1,000-tonne deposit had already been discovered. The new deposit could be worth at least 83 billion US dollars.
Today, gold is not only a means of diversification for investors and central banks and a guarantee of value preservation. The precious metal is being used in more and more high-tech products. It shines with its outstanding corrosion resistance and conductivity. Electronic components benefit from this, as does the aerospace sector.
